Well, I was hoping to be approved for this, and low and behold, I DID. June 15, 2018. Talk about excited, as this was my first time seeing Sebastian Bach, didn't even see him when he was Skid Row. So you can imagine how thrilled I was, and even more so that I got to the Commodore Ballroom, and walked right up to the very front.

First up on stage tonight is 'THE STANDSTILLS', a Rock n Roll band out of Oshawa, Ontario. Also another first for me, talking to people around me, they were all looking forward to the band, so I got excited. Then they came out, Jonny Fox (Vocals, guitar) and Renee Couture (Drums), and that was all, I guess because I saw the guitar stand with 4 guitars in it, I assumed more band members. But these two gave a great performance, great songs, and impecable set. I was just blown away that just 2 people could be that good without others helping out. I am used to at least 4 members to a band, but not The Standstills. You don't want to miss them, they were a great choice for opening act tonight. The only thing I wish was different, is that the drum kit sit differently so you could really see her work that kit. Check out the tour dates at the end of this review, and make sure to see them on one of those dates.

Next, next is who I really wanted to see, especially when you still listen to those great kick ass songs. The crowd was insane, and a real pain in the "A" too, but I hung on to my spot for dear life, I wasn't moving for anything or anyone. I didn't expect the reaction I had when iconic voice of Skid Row Sebastian came on stage, my jaw dropped and opened in awe. Just so amazed I was actually there getting to witness him play. It was the first time he played the Commodore Ballroom, oh, he had played Vancouver before, back on March 4, 1992 with Pantera, and May 10, 2014 with Motley Crue, both shows would have been killers to see, but I get to see this one, I am honoured, so totally impressed.
Voice is true, what you expect to hear, the songs were amazing, and yes, I did sing along loud with the songs that I grew up with. Oh geez, I am in heaven, "I Remember You", "Youth Gone Wild", "18 and Life", and so many more. Just watching him on stage, and to see the energy and well, this show, everyone on stage gave 150% to the fans. It was a sold out show too, so lots of fans. I am speechless, I can't find the words to do this band justice, all I can say is they played a phenomenal set, flawless one in fact, and everyone around me was yelling, singing, happy, enjoying every single second of this show. So much talent, so many great songs, just not long enough. I hope that Sebastian Bach makes a return sooner than later, I want that same feeling of standing up front, and just being in awe of this extraordinary vocalist and his band.

Now, I do have one complaint here, not about the two bands, or most of the fans, what I did NOT expect at this rock n roll show, were the idiotic stupid drunks, causing fights. This is rock n roll, not hardcore (and seriously, I have covered a lot of hardcore bands, they don't act like this) . Chill out, you paid good money to enjoy a band you like, and you were so drunk I doubt very much you even remembered one song that was played. But I did get ticked off because it takes my attention away from watching my all time favourite rockers play.
