MNEMIC is a Danish band that formed back in 1998. They describe themselves as “Future Fusion Metal”. Don’t know what that means, it just means that it’s a mixture between metalcore, melodic death metal, industrial metal, and progressive metal, with some added touches of thrash and groove metal. They have released 4 full albums, this, “MNEMESIS” being the 5th. MNEMIC have toured with some big names along the way, such as Metallica, Deftones, Machine Head, Arch Enemy and some other impressive bands.

There are 10 tracks here to check out. Listen closely and you can hear their progressive edge, filled with grooves, and crammed with guitar riffs. Its complex and definitely reflects their artistic angle and inspiration. There are 2 distinct vocals here, both clear and deep growls, seems to fit their way of things. They are independently creative, nothing wrong with that, it makes you stand out from the rest, so who cares if you cant pigeonhole them into a genre, its all about whether you like the music or not. For those of you who know the band, they still have their trademark sound, but also so much more. This was really something new and refreshing. The artwork was done by “Metastazis”, who works with Ulver, Blut Aus Nord, and Morbid Angel, but is mostly known for working with Black Metal artists. Capturing their unique sound is Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Moonspell, Dark Tranquillity), giving it that clear yet heavy production quality.

By the way, do you know what MNEMIC stands for…. ( “M”ainly “N”eurotic “E”nergy “M”odifying “I”nstant “C”reation). See everything about these guys has their own hand in it. I am pretty sure you will enjoy this complex, well organized, logically constructed work of music.
