MIASMAL: CURSED REDEEMER

Review by YouFO

Genre: Death Metal
Hometown: Gothenburg
Record Label: Century Media

Members:
Björn Eriksson - Drums
Magnus Andreasson - Guitar
Pontus Redig - Guitar & vocals
Ruben Åhlander Persson - Bass

This is the bands 2nd album, and already out to the masses, as of Apr 28th in Europe, and May 13, North America via Century Media Records.

The band is from Sweden, Gothenburg in fact, and it was recorded by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman (At the Gates/Opeth/Wolfpack/Agrimonia/Martyrdod). It only has 8 tracks here, but what you can expect is pure ruthless, no bar hold death metal. The artwork was done by Mattias Frisk (Ghost/Vampire/Vanhelgd).

Miasmal members have played in many a Swedish death metal band, like Agrimonia, Martydod, Corrupted, and more, which probably gives them an all around awareness of what works. Definitely an older death metal sound like from the USA.

What surprises me most, the fact that it took no more than 7 days to record this album, does that mean there was no thought put into it. Not at all, it’s 8 songs of pure traditional death. There is no doubt if you are a death metal fan, then this is a must to have in your collection.
