Resurrected 1990’s good old Florida based death metallers MASSACRE have already released their first studio album in 18 years by Century Media Records, March 24th in Europe, and  on April 1st in North America. “Back From Beyond” is that good old Florida Death Metal, at least if that is what you are looking for, then you have come to the right place. After all it’s their roots from the early 90’s, and when you have hit something good, then you don’t mess with it.

The album was recorded/mixed by Tim Vazquez of CGM Studios, Florida, and features the original MASSACRE members Rick Rozz (ex Mantas/Death), Terry Butler (Obituary, ex Death/Six Feet Under), Ed Webb  (ex Diabolic/Eulogy) and Mike Mazzonetto (ex Pain Principle).  The cover artwork for “Back From Beyond” was created by Toshihiro Egawa (Cryptopsy, Krisiun, Devourment) .

What can I tell you, this is pure and simple straight up good old American savagery. Nothing wrong with that when you do it in the style we all hope for. You always know what you are getting with that old school death metal, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, that’s what we come to expect, that head whirling, head banging brutality. There is no sacrificing. There is some impressive riffage on here, drums blasts and vocals are all what I was hoping for. What a fantastic come back album. The only, the only negative thing, and I hate to say it, but it has to be the Kerry King squeals on the guitar, sorry I am not a fan of Kerry Kings guitar work (I know, what am I nuts, its Kerry King). But I like a band that can pull off the death metal sound so well that I don’t even think of another band when listening. But,….even those KK squeals are done well.

Don’t wait around, get out and get yourself a copy of MASSACRE’S “Back From Beyond” and crank it up loud.
