This band should be known as the “Kreator”s of thrash. If only all thrash metal kreated and mastered their works like these veterans of KREATOR, I know I would enjoy much more thrash.

Credit for this persistent, innovative and unstoppable sound goes to:

Miland “Mille” Petrozza (vocals, guitar)
Sami Yli-Sirnio (guitar)
Christian “Speesy” Giesler - (bass)
Jurgen “Ventor” Reil - (drums)

This is their 13th full length album and was produced at Fascination Street Studios in Orebro Sweden with producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Dio, Slayer) at the helm. The artwork for this album is courtesy of Wes Benscoter (Black Sabbath, Dio, Slayer). There are only 9 songs, they are a little longer with a touch of progressive added into the mix, and for the first time ever in my reviews, I actually wanted more. Its like injecting your veins with pure thrash and getting a high of the most diverse, melodic and forceful music to date from KREATOR.

The are tracks on this CD:

1. Mars Mantra
2. Phantom Antichrist
3. Death to the World
4. From Flood Into Fire
5. Civilisation Collapse
6. United in Hate
7. The Few, the Proud, the Broken
8. Your Heaven, My Hell
9. Victory Will Come
10. Until Our Paths Cross Again
11. Iron Destiny (Japan exclusive)

Now where to begin…first we all know the sound of KREATOR, and I have to say this time around, they have taken it to the next level. There are some sinful riffs , powerful ones that are also melodic at the same time. Before this album KREATOR had headed off in a different direction, but it seems they have pulled it back to complete a pretty epic thrashing madness. Your ears will bleed its so powerful and tight, but creative. The drumming far outshines any of the other bands I have listened too, in the thrash realm. The bass is what you feel vibrating in your chest. The vocals, are exactly what they should be, old school , but brutal and clean enough that you can pick out the words. The lyrics are what KREATOR has always done, about the political issues, fiction, personal things and some social issues, it’s the gambit of lyrical content. This album “Phantom Antichrist” is one that showcases all that KREATOR stands for. This CD is without a doubt “Transcendent”, in other words…going beyond limits, exceeding, and surpassing.

This my friends, is the only CD that you will need to satisfy your need for thrash.
