HARDBANGER was created in 2011 by french producer bruno " brew" varea (known for studio works with bands such as Dagoba, Blazing War Machine, Mephisto, Hord, etc) and guitarist jerome “gray” graille.

Mainly influenced by early 90's hard-rock and the metal scene, and especially bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Morbid Angel, Carcass, Motorhead and AC/DC, even with those kind of influences HARDBANGER is one to make it their own sound.

First video to be released from this EP was “Neck” on March 1, 2012 and was quickly approved for airplay on different TV and radio shows. For example - MTV pulse, Headbangers Ball, Rock TV headbanger show, and Music & Mayhem with Jon Russell, Directstar, Nolife TV, and many more.

On April 1st HARDBANGER will be releasing through their label “Send the Wood Music” their 4 track limited tape EP (100 copies) of “Foursome Tape”, with some unique artwork for each hand numbered piece.  On the same day a digital release of “Foursome Tape” will be unleashed worldwide. Get ready.

Track Listing -
1. Neck
2. Shapes of Envy
3. She Says
4. Civilization (cover of french electro-band Justice)

A second video has now been shown “She Says”, which was filmed at Upload Studios in France, and mastered by Dave Collins (Linken Park, Soundgarden, Sting, and Steel Panther) in Los Angeles, California.

Some have called HARDBANGER death / groove / doom and metal. Really it doesn’t matter what you call them, they have a unique sound. I can say it may be groove, because it has the steady unrelenting beat,  death, because of the vocals which are dark , brutal and ones that you can understand what he is singing, making it that much easier to learn and sing along too. But doom, never, I always find doom too slow, almost a hippie genre, and no way are any of these 4 great songs doom. Metal, its all metal, at its finest, and of course metal is a sub genre to good old rock. The drummer here allows for the rhythmic pattern and the power that drives the songs to their fullest.  Guitar riffs are always what seem to make the band noticeable as well, here they are clean and executed extremely well, with great rythyms. The vocals caught my interest right from the start, they are the overall sound of the band, brutal , evil and yet at the same time, filled with intense vitality. Overall their sound is heavy as Hell, and combined with the rock n’ roll lyrics, makes for an astounding and intense EP.

The only, and I mean only bad thing about this EP, its way too short, 4 songs is not enough for me, that’s how much I really enjoyed this. Its definitely one that you should have, you will find that you are taking it everywhere with you to enjoy. Truly I don’t know if I can do it the justice it deserves, all I want to do, is finish this review and go back and listen some more. Maybe that’s all that needs saying, forget the review and get yourself this EP by HARDBANGER, called “Foursome Tape”. It so deserves your attention. Just listen to the two videos put in here, and that’s all you need to see how great these guys are at doing what they enjoy.
