Two years ago COC released their first album after a 5 year absence , glad to see they are still around. This “IX” is their ninth album (obvious by the roman numerals), also the 2nd in turn and really is a testimony to the talent of these three, Mike Dean (vocals/bass), Woody Weatherman (guitar), and Reed Mullin (drums).

COC have advanced over many years, but you will find on the 11 tracks on IX to be full of sludge, punk, groove and a little doom. The first track I was not too sure of, it took some time to get going, but after 6 minutes, it finally got my attention. The second was the reverse. You will be hearing old COC, with some new attitude on this album. Sounds like the best mixture.

If you have about 42 minutes to give a listen, and you’re a fan of COC, or Hard Rock, Hardcore, Metal, Punk, and Rock, then this is the album for you. Grab it and enjoy.
