BLACK BEAT BLUE: COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL
Review by YouFO

Hometown - Seattle, Washington

Band Members -
Dave Perry (guitar/vocals)
Michael Poole (bass/vocals)
James Capponi (drums,vocals)

This three piece rock band is from the Pacific Northwest, Washington, that have somewhat of a hardrock sound, so a bit raw, grunge, at times moody. So a variety of sounds put into one. This I have to say is different from other rock sounds.

Producer for the album is Jack Endino, who is a legendary recording engineer and musician, who has an impressive list of accomplishments (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, L7, Babes in Toyland, Bruce Dickenson, Spiderbait, Blue Cheer and Witchburn, that’s just a few of them.

Very simple names to their songs, like Animal, Jerk, Disease, and many more along the same lines.

The songs on this album seem to have a raw, edgy, feel, and seem to reflect the sounds of Seattle, bringing together some up-to-date rock, whacked out guitars, some definite bass riffs metal style with drums that are heavy and fast. Somewhat of a new age rock sound. Its different, its not something for the heavy metal crowd for sure, but more along the lines of modern rock fans. I personally am an avid metal fan, but this album was a change, but a good one. Give it a try.
